Yesterday was the Super Bowl night! I’ve been watching the NFL playoffs the past weeks, and I gotta say, there’s more in this sport than what usually European people think. I always knew that the Super Bowl was a big deal in the US, and so, at my 23 I decided for the first time to stay up, have a couple of beers with some American friends and watch the game.
I’m not here to talk about the game though. I guess that yesterday, for the first time in my life, I really felt the need to know more about the culture of the country where I was born. I will always be Portuguese and feel like a Portuguese, however, when the American anthem was playing yesterday, I felt ashamed for not even having an idea about the lyrics, or whatever they talk about. I’ve been hanging around with my buddy Trent from the US and I’ve met a couple of interesting American guys, and now, more than ever, I feel the need to go back to the US and take some time to know the place. An internship of 6 months after the master’s degree, working for Eletronic Arts sounds appealing. It is worth the shot!
(Oh and by the way, Municipal Waste in Amsterdam was awesome!! A review will be posted in my other blog soon.)
